This was the most perfect retreat—deeply peaceful, tranquil, and serene.
The view from the outdoor bath was simply breathtaking, and the experience of roasting the provided marshmallows over the fire pit, lounging under the stars, and soaking in the stillness of the night felt truly magical.
The cabin itself was a haven of quiet, rustic luxury. Spotlessly clean and thoughtfully appointed, it wrapped us in a cosy bubble where the outside world gently faded away for a couple of unforgettable days.
The were plenty of ways to unwind: picnics, nature walks, board games, and beautifully curated books that invited slow exploration. We especially loved the paint-your-own ceramic dish kit from Latenight Pottery—a delightful way to unleash our inner artists.
The breakfast and BBQ packs were filled with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and everything tasted divine cooked on the Weber.
Thank you, Brigitte and Sid, for sharing this little corner of paradise. It was pure joy. -
The cozy cabin was spotless and beautifully decorated with an outlook over the hills and farm that instilled a sense of peace.
The cozy cabin was spotless and beautifully decorated with an outlook over the hills and farm that instilled a sense of peace. Everything that we needed was at our fingertips (from bath salts for the outdoor bath to firewood set and ready to light in all three fireplaces). The breakfast and meat hampers were delicious and generous. Our host was responsive to all of our queries and the information provided from start to finish ensured that we had nothing to do by relax.

This place was everything we wanted for a romantic off grid escape.
This place was everything we wanted for a romantic off grid escape. It was so beautiful to sit on the verandah or next to the fire and watch the birds and the cows. The bed was so comfortable and even though it was supposed to be chilly at night we found the cabin so cosy we didn’t even light the fire on the last night. The Bruce had everything we needed and wanted. It was perfect and we can’t wait to be back. Excellent hosts, clear and quick communication. Just perfect.

What a stunning start to our country vacation! So beautiful we had difficulty tearing ourselves away to visit Glen Innes itself.
Such an exquisite location, tastefully furnished with every necessity provided in the most thoughtful way.
As read in the bio of Jim Barker (yep… even had time to indulge in your beautiful books) … we had time for reflecting on the essence of life, character and beauty in all its forms.
Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us.
A unique experience in every way. -
Such a warm and inviting cottage which meets your every need.
Super comfortable and the food packs were generous, fresh and delicious. Once you arrive, you won’t want to leave.
Perfect for a romantic getaway or a solo traveller wanting some solitude with a book and glass of wine. Definitely recommend a stay here. -
Lovely country stay and excellent food pack Beautiful linen and styling.

Words cannot do justice to this little slice of heaven...
Just find a way to get yourself to The Bruce & lean into the calm (the exceedingly comfortable, special, thoughtful calm). Thank you Brigitte & Sid for sharing this amazing spot.

What a fabulous bush luxe getaway spot!
We loved the peaceful atmosphere and the tranquility of the countryside. The cottage is stunningly appointed, the outdoor bath is an absolute treat, and the location is just perfect. We also loved reading about Morilla’s history and the gorgeous handmade pottery. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend ‘The Bruce’.

Thank you Brigitte & Syd for your outstanding hospitality.
Our 2 nights at The Bruce was 10/10. A much needed break we wanted as a couple and The Bruce did not disappoint. From the country drive into the property with no one else around, to arriving to see this gorgeous cottage was breath taking, instantly we knew we would not be disappointed. The character & charm of this quaint cottage with its finishing touches, the decor throughout combined with top quality linen, down to bath robes, & tea towels and stunning plates, bowls & mugs made of pottery by the owner - all of the above and more made it feel like a home and not just a 2 night stay. We felt we had gone back in time to the late 1800's, yet with class and extremely spoilt with the additions of the breakfast hamper, BBQ meat plate & marshmallows. We could not fault anything, other than we wish we could have stayed longer, but instead we are looking forward to returning again next winter for a longer stay! Thanks again.

We cannot rave about our stay at The Bruce enough.
We asked for an early check in and they gave it to us without any issues. Driving up to The Bruce is magical. The view is so pretty. From the outdoor fireplace, to the lovely umbrella for some shade, to the cute outdoor bathtub (the weather was way to chilly for us to use) it is all so welcoming. Stepping into The Bruce, where they had already put the fire on for us, it had such a peaceful and tranquil feeling. Everything was clean and tidy and lovely finishings. The breakfast pack was such a great inclusion. We decided to stay in for dinner and asked about a beef pack at the last minute and they were some accommodating. It was extremely good value for money and the beef and sausages were very tasty. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next year. They even offered us a late check out! Do yourself a favour and book for more than one night as it''s not enough time to enjoy it all and you won't want to leave.

The Bruce was everything we'd hoped it would be!
The Bruce was everything we'd hoped it would be! We arrived at night and the fire was going and lights left on to make it easy to find - so nice! excellent communication from the host - who was lovely. The outdoor tub was unavailable for us but this was well communicated and we were given a (really nice) meat platter as compensation, really thoughtful and such a treat. This property was very clean, very nice, very private, and a wonderful retreat from the city :) on a clear night I imagine the stars would be amazing as well, we unfortunately had some fog, but the rest of this beautiful property provided for us and gave us a lovely stay. Definitely recommend this place!

This place is a delight. We wanted a winter getaway, and wow did we get one.
The outdoor bath and its beautiful views of the lovely surrounding scenery during the day, or the stars of an evening was the highlight - but so were the three fire options (two external and one internal), all of which were set up with kindling etc - we simply had to light and add logs.
The attention to detail was most commendable in other areas as well. So many wonderful and thoughtful touches. The complementary food pack was perfect, and when combined with the BBQ pack we purchased from Brigitte and Sid we were well fed and very very happy. The complementary robes were a delightful touch as well. They were great to communicate, the instructions on how to get there were spot on. The whole experience was seamless and quite frankly divine, can't wait to return, -
My partner and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Bruce, a small painstakingly curated stay in a beautiful corner of NSW.
The cabin is small but uses the space well, comfortable bed and linen, functional kitchenette and very warm stove for cold nights.
The bathroom was clean and large enough to be comfortable.
The attention to detail was noticeable as soon as you step inside!!
The outdoor balcony was a perfect place to unwind and we enjoyed roasting the complimentary mushrooms by the fire pit and soaking in the tub!
It was peaceful watching the sheep & donkeys graze just outside - unfortunately the donkeys were a bit too skittish to hand feed (maybe because they are not used to guests yet!)
We also really enjoyed exploring the nearby towns, Glen Innes and Emmasville - very friendly locals, lovely markets and delicious food, wine & beer.
Thank you Sid and Brigitte for creating such a wonderful escape from day to day life and we whole heartedly recommend this stay! -
Wow! What a 5 star off grid experience!! Brigette, Sid and the kids, have poured their personalitles and efforts into this cabin.
The attention to detail is next level, from dressing gowns, boardgames, styled kitchenware, a stunning boxed breakfast in the fridge, luxury shower suppplies with a hot shower with perfect water pressure is what made our off grid experience absolutely seamless. From the Eastern Rosellas nesting near us, the miniature donkeys saying hello and loving a scratch, the wide open skies with the fire, this little cabin is a farmstay powerpunch with luxury.. No doubt, 'The Bruce' will become a 'hot spot' as word spreads.

Brigitte and Sid are excellent hosts. They are so kind and welcoming.
The place itself is the best tiny home we have stayed in. Everything from the home itself to the fitout are very well thought out. The area is incredibly peaceful and quiet.
Amazing place and hosts. We highly recommend staying here.
Thanks again guys and all the best for the new year! -
This was our second stay at "The Bruce" and we found it as relaxing and enjoyed it just as much as our first stay.
We look forward to our third stay. "The Bruce" is a lovely cabin in a beautiful location and Brigitte is a fantastic host

We had simply the best few days at The Bruce
It was everything we hoped for and more……a complete retreat and time to restore the soul in beautiful surroundings. The accommodation was very comfortable and sympathetic to an off grid experience. Brigitte and Sid were exceptional hosts, even though we didn’t meet them, they were so welcoming and responsive. The provisions they left for our stay were very generous…….in a nutshell, we will definitely be back
-
We had an absolutely unforgettable time at the Bruce.
Laying in the bathtub looking up at the stars, gorgeous sunrise over the hills with kangaroos bounding. The place is special. You can feel it in the ground. We will be back, and thankyou to Brigette for being a lovely host
-
Fantastic place to unwind and relax
Wish we had stayed for a couple of extra nights and will be back to stay again for sure.
Beautiful place and surroundings for those who want to get away from it all.
The night sky was amazing -
Perfect in every way!
Rustic luxury, peaceful and relaxing… can’t rate highly enough!!
